What can you sell as merchandise?
Creating stories and describing a unique transmog used, a planet or a specific location does not give the copyright to the story creator for selling the artwork of its story content as merchandise, the copyright for selling merchandise is acquired by any artist who took the time to understand the story from the creator and create digital art for it, you can do it for your own stories or you could hire an artist to make some concept art of some unique locations, characters and transmog used inside your story and then sell it with his permission as merchandise. If you don't hire an artist and you don't make any merchandise for your story and you have some unique concept art, the community might make some and they have the right to sell it as merchandise.
